H&Y Law Firm (“H&Y”) was founded in 2000. In 2003 H&Y was restructured by merging with two groups of attorneys from Tong Da Law Offices’ Shanghai Office and Shanghai Pioneer Law Offices and developed into a full service law firm with 9 partners leading a variety of associate teams. H&Y is based in Shanghai and provides services to the whole of China.

H&Y possesses a high quality team of attorneys. H&Y attorneys received first-class legal education and trainings from major Chinese and/or foreign law schools. Some attorneys have work experiences with major foreign and international law firms and understand Chinese and foreign cultures and legal systems.

H&Y attorneys are active in professional organizations and are widely recognized for their expertise. Some members are frequent guest speakers at various conferences and seminars organized by professional associations, government agencies, and private institutions. H&Y attorneys regularly contribute to domestic and international professional journals, newspapers and are often quoted by domestic and international media for reviews and comments on developments in Chinese laws and policies. H&Y attorneys have authored or co-authored many professional books published by distinguished international and domestic publishing houses.

H&Y emphasizes connections with government agencies and courts at various levels while retaining our independence and loyalty to our clients. Some attorneys had worked in government agencies and courts before practicing law at H&Y. Our attorneys have participated in the drafting of many legislative bills at both central and provincial levels. H&Y attorneys are also active in legislative, administrative, and judicial initiatives and researches. Their efforts help shape the regulatory regimes in the subject matters concerned.
